There is an estimated 70m stray cats in the United States

GCat Rescue was an all-volunteer Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) and Rescue-Adoption project managing the feral cat colonies in the community.

Spot a cat …?

Cats that have already been TNR’d receive an ear tip or “notch” that is a a visual marker that lets us know in advance that unless there is a health issue, they only need to be monitored and not trapped. Take a look so that you know one when you see it.

About Us

GCat Rescue is an all-volunteer Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) and Rescue-Adoption project managing the feral cat colonies in our community.

TNR has been shown to stop the spread of feral cats in communities across the nation. It involves trapping the cats, adopting out the kittens and friendly adults, and neutering and vaccinating the untame adults before returning them for lifelong outdoor care. Neutered cats cannot reproduce so the population goes down as the cats age naturally. Neutering and colony care also can reduce nuisance behaviors like fighting, screaming, spraying, roaming, hunting, etc. TNR ultimately is a smart solution that requires a fraction of the cost of antiquated and ineffective animal control methods.

An unspayed female cat, her mate and all of their offspring, producing only two litters per year, with  2.8 surviving kittens per litter can can breed over 11,000 cats in under 10 years. To date, GCat has rescued, fostered and homed over 100 adoptable cats and kittens.

GCat Rescue has a profound respect for all living things and works tirelessly to ensure the health and safety of all of the creatures that we are delighted to call our neighbors and has effected:

a return rate of only 28%.
