This is Peanut. At one day old. About 3oz (85g). Late afternoon the day before, Peanut was scooped up off the street by Google Chef Dan. Saved. With umbilical cord still attached, Peanut was bleeding from one leg and from his bottom. Peanut was screaming and cold. It wasn't a certainty that we'd make it to the veterinary clinic in time. We'd soon learn that this was likely the result of being snatched up and dragged off by a bird or some other predator. The damage significant: a laceration to the left leg, which though stitched and now externally healing, has unknown long-term consequences; a punctured rectum (also stitched), which must be hellishly painful.
